I realise its not alot of points but you can snag an extra 2 or 3 thousand by breaking the link ball before getting the ideya. There arent enough chips/rings/stars before the ideya capture to break the ball but I noticed you can fly over the ideya capture get the last 2 links you need using the double ring then go back to the ideya capture. I know its only 2 or 3 thousand points at maximum but it takes a second or two extra and I think it might be worth it in the long run?

I've been working on FB for the past few days and tried this out - it isn't worth it in my eyes. The few seconds I take doing that link ball can be the difference between another lap round at the end or not. Plus before you get the ideya you're wasting 100 points a second and once you're in the bonus time the link ball is worth twice as much~ So no, for me this doesn't seem to work nicely at all.

Yep, its better to get 16+ chips as Elliot, then dash through the first lot of chips and straight to the capture, leaving 115 for bonus time.
