I am assuming Kraken has worked out how to do this based on his score but I TOTALLY cant do it. How do you get the 8 chips required to break the lin ball at the end of the bobsleigh run?
Any ideas much appreciated.

I can get it once in a while, but I havent worked out exactly how. I usually set NiGHTS towards the center of the row and tap left...I get lucky at times. I'm practicing how to master it, though, and I'll tell you once I do.

Yeah thats pretty much what I do but it seems pretty incredibly random to me. You do seem to throw down on that level though. FB4 is by far my lowest scoring mare. Any ideas what I might be doing wrong? I think having to make a full lap before getting the Ideya really hurts me on that one.

I usually get it after a full lap as well. Let's see....my basic plan on Mare 4:
Start by flying forward. Go through the loop, collecting the chips and stars as you go (if you can go through the loops while paralooping at least two of the four items, that's even better, as that can help you continue a link easier), continue forward, dont touch the Ideya capture, and go to the bobsled part. Hit the first booster, go up the wall to the right and bypass the second boost. Follow it back down and hit the snowballs. Hit the next booster and head up the wall. Miss the final booster, grab the link ball.
Now, I did a bit of experimenting with the link ball at this point. Unfortunately, I havent completed the link since I started the experiments...everytime I fixed one flaw, another arose. However, it seems like it's advantageous to not control NiGHTs too much towards the first two chips: you'll have to move him just a tad to the left, but not much. The center two are the hardest to get. Everytime I try to direct NiGHTS left, I miss the right one barely. I may get both chips from one of the center rows, but I miss one from the other row. If I direct NiGHTs right slightly, I miss the left one, usually of both the center row and the final row. Not moving NiGHTS also results in missing a left chip.
It does seem like there is a point when you shouldnt try to move NiGHTS and just let him go with the halfpipe. The first and final two chips seem easiest to hit: the former due to them being the first ones, and the latter due to the halfpipe's bending which *seems* to direct NiGHTS straight for it. Maybe I'm overanalyzing. >_>
Now, continuing past, you've got one more ring between you and the palace. I go below the ring, grab the stars, loop up and grab the next two stars moving back, and then head through the ring. It's a counterclockwise loop ending with passing through the ring and, usually, getting a good deal of the chip/star formation in the background. And from there, just continue.
....I hope A: that that helps some, and B: you decide to read the block of text that I got carried away with. =p Sorry.

No no big blocks of text are exactly the kind of information I am interested in sharing. This is great info. You seem to have almost exactly the same strategy as me just you appear to be better at it. I think cracking the link ball here would push the score over the 50 000 mark with ease.

Hm...it looks like infinite links are impossible past Mare 1. It looks like breaking 600k will require perfection on all mares: 2 and 4 in particular. Once I master the maneuvers through the bars on Mare 2 and the link ball on Mare 4 (getting closer...I broke it twice in my last FB run), it should all be focus and skill from there.

This sounds pretty impressive stuff? Any new scores?

Not quite yet...I got denied by the freezy guys in Mare 1 and the electrocuting guys in Mare 3 a lot. =p Haha. Working on it, though, dont worry.
