I was having a practice at this yesterday, and I can definitely see how it's possible; A few times I've managed to close the final paraloop while the clock was still on 108, but it just ticks down to 107 before the battle counts as being over.
The deciding factor seems to be how small (and thus, how fast) your paraloops are. If I concentrate on making them very exact, for example, I can connect the first paraloop while the clock is still on 117. My biggest stumbling point is currently the second paraloop, because Reala always seems to come in from a high angle for that one and I often balls it up.
Something else I've noticed about the Reala battle: you can actually move around during the little cut-scene where Reala is speaking, and you can see yourself in the background behind him if you're in the right place. However, no matter where you move to he always seems to leap off his pedestal in roughly the same place relative to you - i.e. roughly the opposite side of the arena. It might be that you can use this fact to somehow get Reala to leap off the pedestal closer to you, but if you can, I haven't managed to do that yet.
However, I've noticed that where you move to can affect which direction Reala moves in after leaping off the pedestal: if you don't move at all, he always seems to come at you from the left, but if you move it's possible to make him come at you from the right (which I think is what happens in your video, tabitha?). Again, I haven't found a way to use this knowledge to save any time, but it's another thing probably worth keeping in mind.
EDIT for clarity: I just watched your vid again, and in technical terms Reala doesn't "leap" off the pedestal at all; after the cut-scene he just warps to / appears at a given spot in the circular arena, as far as I can tell.
