Thanks for the comments Ben. You've got a great score for Mare 2 so I'm definitely gonna take your advice on that one and practice a new line. I could also learn ABPs to save some time like you're doing but I have a feeling I'm not gonna be very successful at them.
Good luck with the reverse-infinite if you do it. I get more comfortable the more I do it, and I'm sure the score could get pretty high if someone can manage a perfect lap without losing the link.

A tip for ABP's, then:
Don't wait to visually confirm the air brake before making a circular rotation with the analog. Instead, press the triggers just a hair before pulling the analog stick in the opposite direction you were flying, then complete the half-circle motion quickly to resume direction. In the paraloop in Mare 1, for example, I fly slightly downward towards the bottom star of the cluster. Then, I hit the triggers and immediately move the analog 180 degrees opposite, being sure to quickly complete the motion with the half-circle going counter-clockwise along the bottom of the axis. It's tough to explain, but I've found that if I don't do the analog motion quickly after hitting the air brake, I tend to get more tricks and less loops. Let me know how it goes!
Sincerely, Ben

New SRs for SV1 and SV2. Gotta love that reverse infinite! And there's actually still room for improvement. Mare 2 was simply the same strategy that Ben is using, with the 26 link at the start and the 42 link at the end around the tree. One thing I don't do anymore is get the dash token. I find with the reverse infinite on mare 1 I save a lot more dash for the rest of the dream and don't need a refill anymore. By skipping this I'm able to save a second and get another 26 link.

I never got the dash token at all, even though the ABP Mare 1 usually ends up using a majority of my dash bar. I've found that Mare 2's rings give me an ample amount of dash every time, so it shouldn't be too much of a concern. Anyway, very nice scores! That Dream just got rocked.
Not to come off as a challenge or anything, but I'd would like to see you beat my Mare 2 score in Mystic Forest sometime. When I made it, I was under the impression that it was just about maxed out. Granted, I was paralooping the chips at the very end, so if you didn't do that you could easily edge out my score. I just wanted to see how much higher the score could go, and you seem to be one to go to for discovering those sorts of curiosities.
Great scores though, Charlie. Hats off!
Sincerely, Ben

Thanks Ben! As for Mare 2 on Mystic Forest I believe you are right that it is just about maxed out. I remember a few times I could've beat your score if I collected the 3 chips at the end (another 600 points), but I always have to paraloop them and save them for Mare 3. One thing that will help boost the score is paralooping the first set of 3 chips to carry them through the 2 yellow rings and boost panel to connect it with the 28 link, which gives a 33 link. I think you only have enough time to do this once or twice during the mare.

Getting so close! Just didn't get enough points on mare 1 and 4 to break 900k. I've started using Ben's strategy of using the first stunt ribbon in non-bonus time and going to the right with the second stunt ribbon. Seems to be working well, but it still takes me an immense amount of time to get a good run, which is why I can't wait to be finished with this dream.

I'm totally amazed with those scores! You've really set the new standard for this dream. Also, since you're practicing taking the second Stunt Ribbon to the right, have you attempted omitting the first non-bonus time ribbon in favor of grabbing it in an incomplete bonus time lap? Every time I've tried it, I'm short just a few seconds. I imagine if you run it left towards the Ideya palace you could sneak it in there, but I don't know how difficult it is to mash stunts in that direction...
Best of Luck on 900k! ~Ben

Thanks Ben. I did try to skip the first non-bonus time ribbon and grab it an an incomplete lap, but like you I run out of time. Even with short cuts, like going directly to the boost panel and omitting the rings, there just isn't enough time for me to properly mash the L and R's and use the walls that work best. When I'm using stunt ribbons I like to use the exact same bumps and surfaces without using much dash so it's not a good option for me anymore. I like your strategy the best of using the first ribbon in non-bonus time.

SC2 92710 (SR) EDIT: see next post for better scores SC3 159090 (SR) EDIT: see next post for better scores
Still no improvement on my total though as I can't seem to get a perfect run. I did have some scores between 780-790k so I'm getting close to beating my current record and breaking 800k. Just need to pull it all together.
I know SC is a difficult dream but I'm surprised more people don't play it because it has potential for some really high scores.
Later guys, Charlie

Those are some nice scores, to be sure! I'm glad we have somebody trying to pioneer his way through the Dream!
I think the reason most of us keep our distance from Stick Canyon is because, well, it isn't as appealing of an environment as the other Dreams. I vastly prefer the music of every other Dream (save Soft Museum's) to Stick Canyon's, and I feel the same way about the environment. Also, let's face it: it leaves a negative taste in most players' mouths as they play it for the first time. It's difficult, and the time-crunch in the fourth Mare is stressful. I don't like the Dream too much, but that's just me. I need to suck it up and bolster my scores, as I haven't set foot in that wasteland for years.
Happy Holidays, Ben

Woot!!! Destroyed my old record of 790k and now well ahead of the Japan record. My run of 839k couldn't have been much better so I'm really happy with this score. I even got the link ball on mare 4!!! I think it's the 2nd or 3rd time in my life that I've ever done that! lol. I think all of these mares still have some room for improvement but it's so insanely difficult to get a good run on all of them that I'm gonna stop playing this dream and go onto something else.
Video to be uploaded soon.

I've never played Twin Seeds too seriously so it was fun to get started on it. I don't think my scores will every be near what Airmax is doing but at least mine are half decent now.
Looking forward to a couple days off for New Years. Trying to decide what dreams I want to focus on. Hmmm...

It's been a while but I've finally got back into NiD again and this time I'm working on SG. Slowly starting to get the hang of ABPs but still waiting for a high score with the dreamies.
Just some PR's for now
SG1 112490 - see next post for updates SG2 64170 - see next post for updates SG1 Links 406 - see next post for updates
Hope you guys are doing well, and I'd love to see some more updates!

Feels good to break some records again! Most of them are PR's because Ben is still the pro at this dream, but SG3 and the SGT are SR's.
My total should actually be a bit higher so I'll continue playing this dream. When I got 149K on SG3 I completely ruined SG4, so I kept playing until my total score was better.
