Just noticed the site update, it's nice to see the other Christmas NiGHTS categories up now, and I'll get you some scores for those at some point. :) A note about Sonic into Dreams, though - I was actually messing around on that yesterday, and I remembered that Sun said this in another thread:

Now if that's what's added to the site ATM, that'll only be the time for the level, not an overall time including the boss; basically, when you're in the level your best time for the level is displayed at the top of the screen, and when you're in the boss battle your best boss time is displayed instead. Your overall time only gets shown at the end, and although the game must keep a track of it (because it correctly tells you if you've got a new record), I haven't noticed any way to view this time after you get it. So, I guess you might want to add separate level and boss times for Sonic to the page (they're officially dubbed "Pia" and "Mare" times in-game, as in "Nightopia" and "Nightmare" I think, but those names aren't particularly enlightening), and maybe clarify all this somewhere in the rules / FAQs for people, as it's slightly confusing...
Also, is Sun Wukong's surname misspelled on the site? :O Just noticed that's different to his forum username...
Anyhow, on top of that I actually have a couple of genuine suggestions as well as those nitpicky corrections! I was thinking about what other NiGHTS scores could possibly be recorded on the site in the future, and came up with two random ideas:
- I know you don't want to include link scores for all the separate courses because in many cases people'll have them recorded wrong due to the carry-over-links bug, but have you considered letting people compete for link scores only on the Course 1s? There's no way those scores could be recorded wrong to my knowledge, and of course the Course 1 links are kind of interesting because they're all known to have possible infinites...
- This is a somewhat more random idea, but if you do end up ruling out certain bugs and methods for high-scoring (e.g. the Stick Canyon / Splash Garden things), how about having some corner of the site where people actually can submit scores with these methods, just for fun and silliness? Obviously not something urgent, but I thought I'd suggest it before I forget...

Right, Sorry it took my such a long time to get back on this one. I
think the Mare 1 links thing is a fantastic idea and I should have
thought of this before. I will impliment this in due course.
The random scores page thing is also a good idea but I want to get a
few other things sorted out first like a PRs page and an overhaul of
the submission/FAQ pages, redo the banner and a few things.
Feel totally free to start a thread for people to post scores for the
bugs and glitches we find and I will get around to creating a page in
due course.
Sorted Sun name being wrong and I also noted the need to add extra
levels for xmas nights. I think I might put Xmas nights into another
table and the standard nights one is getting a little unwieldy.
Are all these useful sugestions some secret conspiracy to stop me from getting time to beat your scores? :)

Heh, I never thought of that - those suggestions weren't, and the following suggestions aren't either, but I'll keep that in mind for the future. :P Also:

...for the record I am using Internet Explorer, so if anything I mention looks different at your end you know where the problem lies.
Anyhow, things:
- Curently when you roll over one of the hyperlink-images on the site, its url (e.g. "images/menusubmit_o.gif") pops up in one of those little yellow tooltip boxes, which looks slightly odd.
- On the Twin Seeds page, the top title says "Mare 1" rather than "Dream Total".
- On the Site Records page, there seems to be too much spacing between the Stick Canyon and Twin Seeds tables, and between the Twin Seeds and Boss Times tables. Also, the record holder for Clawz on that page should be "Multiple Users"; Miles is only pwning everyone on three bosses. :P
- On the Score Statistics page, the first subtitle has "Total" typo'd, and the other two subtitles are centred (I'm guessing they're not meant to be?)
- On the Christmas NiGHTS page, "Eliots Dream" should be "Elliot's Dream", not only with an apostraphe but with two "l"s.
- Also, on Time Attack, the scores seem to be sorted in reverse order at the moment.

I agree that was a good idea, having all the scores for each level in one place makes browsing them easier.

Uh, yep, that is indeed wierd, I have no idea why but I will get on
that.in due course. IE baffles me. I dont think there is anything in
the code which is doing that.

Heh, there is a way to format the score so they appear in the database
a 12340 but print in the tables as 12,340 but I havent got round to
that just yet.
Also you noting the times were in the wrong order gave me an excelent
itdea to get all the people with a zero score off the boards they dont
have scores in so thanks for that!

I think a little introduction at the top is a fantastic idea. I have
been meaning to do that for ages. Cheers for the little push.
Linking the site records page to the level records is an interesting
idea but I think its pretty easy to find them via the links on the left
of the page. I will bear it in mind though.

A few things...
1. The page with the boss times is called "Boss 2.0". It should be called "Bosses" or something like that.
2. Is there any way you can make it so that tied scores appear as the same rank? For example, on the Puffy chart, it says that Lance is in 1st, Kraken is in 2nd, and I'm in 3rd, even though we all have 100. Is there any way to change it so all of them say 1st?
3. On the site records page, for the bosses where multiple people have the record, it just says "Multiple Users"... Can you change it so that it lists everyone who has the record?
4. On the actual Boss 2.0 page, it says that I'm currently holding or equaling every record... I don't have the Wizeman record.

I have no doubt there is a way to do this but my PHP skills are
limited at best so the pages currently sort things by time and then the
order they appear in the database. I will get around to it at some
point but I am trying to get up a complete set of videos and a couple
of other things first.

Again, Thats a php problem so I have the same answer as number 2. Both TOTALLY valid observations though.

SA.net Collective Game Faq??
Theres so many strats and tips floating about the boards - at least one mare run through for each dream I think - it might be an idea to collect together an faq style document covering all the mares and such.
Some ideas - maybe a space on the website in the 'Gameplay' section for each dream for written guides/faqs that basically who ever has the site record can write. Anyone that beats it can edit the guide, write a new one, or whatever. A communal faq, with every SR holder contributing.
Half of it is probably already written, just spread out across the forums. Or are you happy with it just in the ether of the forums?

I think thats an awesome idea. I have acctually been planning something
like this for a while. I am acctually working on a kind of nights 101
guide cause its been pointed out sa.net is kind of hardcore. I
acctually want to do a kind of bullet pointed guide to each mare with a
video of the strat in the guide above it but I have run out of DVDs and
cant do any more taping till the weekend but I think doing both is a
good idea.
Anyone wanting to put up their strats put them in the relavant forum
and I will add them to the relavant page of the site. Alsi I guess we
could compile the whole thing into one big text only FAQ and submitt it
to the gameFAQS board as a kind of joint effort type thing with a joint
username. That would be fairly cool.

Two things -
I always thought the front page should make visually more of the welcome/mission statement than it does at the moment. Your eye is drawn to the news underneath before reading that. Maybe a bigger font (for the whole thing or just a new heading - 'Welcome to Scoreattack.net' type thing), or a different colour, or a nights-esque backdrop etc. Just something to stand it out. Also theres a spelling mistake ('then' instead of 'the' on the last line)
Also, with the high scores panel -
The site records page is the main show off point and the above just has a more logical order imo.
Again, only suggestions Tab, take what you will and keep up the good work!
