A-Life and its associated slow-down.

Admittedly, I've never messed around too much with A-Life. Most of pians probably dread me, actually. But, I was thinking... hatching too many pians / mepians in an area bogs down the game speed, right? Is there some way to try to group these little dudes near the stunt ring areas (Spring Valley Mare 3, for example)? The slow-down may make it even easier to get the most out of the ten seconds of Stunt Ribbon. And frankly, I can use all the help I can get.

As I said, it's just a thought. Tell me what you think, if it's plausible, etc...

Sincerely,
blackrabite

That's a pretty interesting idea. I've never spent a lot of time breeding in NiD either, but I have had some pretty good slow down before, to the point where I have to kill them all so it doesn't mess up my run. I wonder if you would be able to do more stunts or not. I'm not really sure if the slowdown also causes the timer to slow down too, or if the game runs slower and the timer runs at normal speed.

I'll have to try it out sometime. Nice idea blackrabite.

Killing Pians is bad as it takes away your Pian Bonus at the end of Mare 4, but killing Mepians will give you 80 pts, x2 in bonus time. I've once expressly hatched dozens in the same area, then looped them all to try to improve a score. In the end, it wasn't that practical.

That's an interesting little fact about the Mepian-slaying, Peter. As you said, not very practical, but good to know! Of course, I wouldn't want to kill any of my little cone-heads, I just want the induced slowdown to aid my stunt-mashing.

In the past, I've always copied my score data onto the system from my backup, playing with a clean A-life, then copying back at the end. Slow down pissed me off.
