Just played through the PS2 version for the first time. A couple things I noticed that I don't think anyone else has mentioned yet.
- Stunt Ribbons can be linked. Meaning if you enter a second stunt ribbon before the first one finishes it will continue at the same score. In theory you could start the second ribbon with dreamies!! In the saturn version it wouldn't let you do this, instead it would reset the ribbon and your first trick would be worth the usual 100 points.
- When you stop dashing you will get a very slight boost in speed. I found it was easier to get hard links if I didn't try to dash all the way to the next object. It helped me a lot on the first mare of Spring Valley when you have to reach the 2 chips. I could rarely continue my link if I dashed all the way, but if I stopped dashing a second before the chips I would get enough of a boost that I would continue my link.
Maybe it's just me but the dash panels seem slower, or NiGHTS slows down too quickly after he is shot out. I don't think it's possible to do the big paraloop around the tree in SV3 anymore. Has anyone done it yet?
I'm actually having a harder time doing dreamies, but it's probably just a matter of getting used to the wall glitch. I often get stuck in the walls and sometimes when I'm going left he'll start going right depending on the stunt I do.
Overall I still like the Saturn version better. The controls and physics just seem a little more tight and natural. I really like the graphics in the PS2 version and it's fun to play, but the speed and controls seem a bit off.
