I think its a good idea.
Obviously its up to you but, I wouldnt worry about not matching some of
the other scores on the site if that is whats stopping you from
posting. I really enjoy watching people improve. Also I am alot more
confident when somone posts a bunch of 500 000 plus scores if I have
seen them come up through the ranks and talked alot of strategy with
them than somone coming in right out of the blue. I would probably ask
for proof at that point. But like I said. Its entirely up to you!

Minor pedantic alert! Typos / slip-ups on the site's high score pages:
Stick Canyon > Mare 1: you're not in second place any more, tabitha. ;)
Boss times > Reala: another second place related thing.
Thought I should mention 'em.

Hell yes, I get a little distracted thinking about too many things at
ones for the site and I tend to miss things like this. Im working on a
database for the scores but its extremely hard work but it should put
an end to these errors. Once its finished that is.

I just had a thorough-ish look through the php site - as I said in the other topic, it's looking good. Noticed a couple of minor hitches just now, though:
- The Total Dreams page doesn't have the right title at the top (currently says "Boss Times"); the rest of the page looks right, though.
- On Frozen Bell > Mare 4, my listed score currently looks exactly the same as Kraken's. :) Not sure what my last posted score was for that course, but my best at the moment is 47510. (I'll probably post my other FB updates in the score submissions forum in the new few days, as I seem to have got to the point where I'm not making much more progress...)
- I noticed that the old www.scoreattack.net/index.html is gone completely now, but it might be a good idea to have that address redirect people to the new index.php rather than giving a "page not found" error. It just struck me that if anyone bookmarked the index.html and not anything else on the site, they might get the impression that the site's kind of dead, which wouldn't be good.

Sorry, sorted the score issue and the header mistake (or will have next time I ftp everything. Thanks alot.
Also, I did think about the index.html idea but as it stands there isnt
any way that I am aware of to have index.html and .php on my site at
the same time as index.html has a higher priority than index.php ergo
anyone looking for www.scoreattack.net will go to the html version.
Kind of wierd but I think it should be ok.

1 - Thats a very good idea, I will get onto that
2 - I have acctually implemented this in the database already but the
game gives the scores in the format xx:xx:xxx which I cant work out
just yet as my database only does xx:xx:xx
3 - Thats an interesting idea but that would more or less be
duplicating things on the site as Claris' Dream in xmas nights is
identical to her Spring Valley dream. Also the kids play exactly the
same for Twinseeds and Wizeman, I will make that clearer in the
FAQ/Xmas nights table though.
Thanks alot!

Technically, there are a few differences between playing Spring Valley in winter and playing it normally. Off the top of my head:
- The part of the Ideya Capture that you have to collide with is lower down on the winter (Christmas tree) version.
- To knock chips out of the trees around the main hill you normally have to jump into their branches, but in winter they're pine trees and you can just walk into them (like the trees in Frozen Bell). I use those trees in my strat for Elliot's Spring Valley.
Considering how technical high-scoring can be though, I can see why you might want to differentiate between scores from Christmas NiGHTS and scores from the normal game, because not everyone who owns NiGHTS will own Christmas NiGHTS and the Christmas level definitely can play differently, if only in minor ways.
On top of that, I vaguely suspect that Sonic Team also tweaked the general gameplay in Christmas NiGHTS too. I've not confirmed this yet, but when I was setting those new Christmas NiGHTS records with Elliot, I noticed that it seemed harder to get good scores off the stunt ribbons than in the normal game: harder to chain stunts together rapidly. That may just have been my imagination, but it's something I intend to check out at some point.
Considering that the levels still seem mostly identical though, it may be overkill to just add another score page for the Christmas version, and it'd almost certainly skew those total / average score pages you're adding to the site at the moment, because I suspect many people only bother playing (and getting high scores on) one version of the level, and let their scores in the other version wallow. If you do want to address the issue though, I can think of two other possible solutions off the top of my head:
A) Request that people only submit scores from the NiGHTS version of Claris' Spring Valley and not the Christmas NiGHTS version. I expect slightly more competitors here will own just NiGHTS rather than both NiGHTS + Christmas NiGHTS, so this would generally keep things fair as well as simple.
B) Or, add an extra column to all Claris Spring Valley scores on the site recording whether it's a score from NiGHTS or Christmas NiGHTS (maybe just a letter N or a letter C), and ask people to mention which one it is when they submit scores. That way, there's no obvious redundancy but it'd still be possible to keep track of this small issue.
EDIT: As another alternative, if you just base your overall score statistics pages (totals and averages and what-have-you) on the NiGHTS levels and leave the Christmas stuff out of it, then you could include a chart for Claris' Spring Valley on the Chrtistmas NiGHTS page without affecting anything. There's various ways you could handle all this really, and you also have the luxury that it's not a serious issue as far as we know.
On the other hand, Twin Seeds and Wizeman should definitely be safe in this respect: as far as I can tell that's a simple model swap, and both Claris and Elliot have exactly the same level and boss (they're literally the same level and boss loaded from the game disc) with no gameplay differences.

Ah, I had a vague suspicion that might be the case, and a quick comparison between the two games shows that it definitely is - in Christmas NiGHTS, that "bug" is fixed. That's more significant than either of the other differences I posted, but I guess it's a good thing that the Christmas NiGHTS version of the level has the disadvantage, and not the one in the main game.

Whoops! Didn't realise, and I guess there's no issues for the site then.

Just a quick note, but there seems to be some oddness going on on the main site with borders surrounding text boxes: I noticed a similar thing on one of the high score pages a few days ago, forgot to mention it. Any idea what's causing that?

Yeah, that was me, I found some left over code which was putting wierd
spaces in places I didnt want them. Also I was thinking about using
text boxes on the main page to make things look a little more uniform,
not sure if I like it or not. I did go through and sort out all the
score pages though which I think look alot better now.
