... because Sonic Center is down, and I don't know whether they kept tabs on this mode in the first place. No rules other than no glitching (are there glitches?) and you must be in Time Attack mode (no items!). Other than that, pick your favorite character and have a blast!

Azure Lake  18"51 (Sonic)
Balloon Park  29"11 (Knuckles)
Chrome Gadget  30"19 (Tails)
Desert Palace  29"83 (Sonic)
Endless Mine  41"73 (Sonic)

I often found Sonic to be the best choice for most stages, what with his insane speed and high jumps. However, Tails really shines through in the Chrome Gadget stage (where Sonic could only pull off a 35 second run), while either Tails or Knuckles can rip Sonic a new one in Balloon Park.

I dunno where my inspiration to play NiGHTS has wandered off to of late, but Sega always has something else for me to play around with. Have fun! Oh, and bonus points to anybody playing this in his / her Genesis.
