I have been giving a bit of thought recently to putting all the SA video content on YT and I see a couple of advantages to it.
Firstly editing and compressing videos is extremely difficult and very time consuming and I have never really been happy with the results Ive got. You tube compresses the videos for me and its very fast to upload. Second advantage is its free publiticy for the site and might pull in some more players. Third good point is far less bandwidth useage (admittedly not much of a problem) and no messing about with FTPing huge files. Also people wanting to add content to the site wont have to send the files to me before sharing them with the world and I can just use the code YT generates to embed the video in the relavant page.
Most of the video content on the site is mine with notable contributions from Lance and miles and some new stuff from peter. Sorry if I forgot anyone. What do you guys think about this? I will probably put my stuff up anyway simply to make it easier to manage and I feel the results uploading to YT will be better than the results I got with virtual dub in terms of quality.

The quality isnt good I admit but the quality of the source video is very low.

lol I always assumed you had put them up there...
I think thats a good idea to have them all there. Just keep the screen shot to the vids on SA.net as they are and make the link open to youtube perhaps in another window/tab? Or can you embedd them, like in blogs?

as far as I know you can insert them amywhere. This was mainly aimed at miles and peter seeing as they have as yet unuploaded stuff. how do you guys feel about me putting your stuff on youtube (with full credit of course) to make it easier to link on the site.

I can't remember exactly what videos I've contributed (I know there's a pretty out-of-date Frozen Bell run), but I'm fine for it / them to go on YouTube too.

Good stuff,I just this day signed up for an account with YT and I am waiting for my conformation email to come through. I dont want to put everything up on my personal account, would rather have one just for SA. That was I can let anyone else who want to upload content have the password and they can upload content direct.
Should be starting on this over the weekend.
