Those are some pretty incredible scores. =) Welcome to the site. I
can't wait to see what kind of things you'll be doing pretty soon.
You'll probably get quite a few site records in no time at all. =)

Thanks for the welcome, Kraken! Our scores are somewhat close together (sets us up for a rivalry, no?), though your Frozen Bell record intimidates me. I don't have a clue as to where to start on that dream... I guess I better go hit up other parts of this forum!
Anyway, are you still deprived of an analog controller? E-mail / PM me your address and I will send you one. Please. I can't bare the thought of you being confined to the D-pad! In return, tell me what your precious avatar is from... the graphical style of the sprite reminds me of something Tri-Ace / Enix would've produced in the 16-bit days of old.

I appreciate the offer greatly, but I'll have to decline. My parents
would go rabid if I gave my address to someone online. >_> Bah.
But I'll get a 3D controller someday, don't worry. And I found my
avatar on pixeljoint.com. There's some pretty good things there. Mine
is called "Simbiosis" from that site...I didnt make it, though.
And Frozen Bell's a great dream. So much fun, and it's not as hard as
it looks to get up there. It'll take a little bit of practice, but I
can't think of it taking more than a few hours to get the hang of the
dream. Lance actually has a video on this site of his 698k score: I
would suggest watching that. It'll show you the strategies for Frozen
Bell. Good luck. =) And I look forward to competing with you on the
other dreams.
... ...I really should practice in Stick Canyon. I'm horrible at it.

Hey there! formal welcome to the site and all that. Great first set of
scores and feel free to post any questions you hav in the relavant
forum, I am sure help will be forthcoming. Also several of us opted to
use real names for score submission, I feel it makes the site look more
credible, obviouslt its up to you though. Best of luck and sorry about
the slight delay in adding your scores.

Full name? Ben Masters. I promise to start updating this thread with actual score improvements very soon. Thanks for the welcome though!
Made progress on Soft Museum!
Mare 1 - 93360 Mare 2 - 79030 Mare 3 - 44850 Mare 4 - 72110 Total - 489020
Now wait a minute, what's up with that total score? The answer is a 19-link on Gillwing, who then remained with one hit left. I almost slit my wrists. Well, as soon as I produce a more reasonable total score, I think I may just move on to either Mystic Forest or Frozen Bell.

More progress on Soft Museum!!
Mare 1 - 93360 (no change) Mare 2 - 100640 Mare 3 - 45310 Mare 4 - 81340 Total - 617000
I would've had 625k-ish, but Gillwing gave me the finger. Anyway, I'm done with this dream for now. I played it about 30 different times, getting screwed on the first lap more than anything else. Is it only me who has a problem with that nasty green creature near the bonus ball in the first mare? I swear, it has given me hell on earth.
Mystic Forest (first playthrough in, like, two weeks)
Mare 1 - 91970 Mare 2 - 41090 (no change) Mare 3 - 66840 Mare 4 - 38890 (no change) Total - 467500
So, I'm beginning to get the hang of that Mare 1 infinite. Like many others, I'm sure, my only difficulty is getting the paraloop around the seven blue spheres. Mares 2 & 4, clearly, I have no idea what the hell I'm doing. As for Mare 3, I've made it my objective to open both bonus balls as much as possible. Being able to incorporate tricks into my scheme in the hidden cavern would be awesome, but I'm still rubbish at abusing the Stunt Rings.

Yeah the stunt rings are amazingly irritating and your scores for soft museum are something else. I dont have any problems with the enemy on SM1 and the secret to the MF3 level is ALL stunt ring. Feel free to post and questions in the relavant forum though I am sure somone will help.

blackrabite, with the green maren on SM1, dashing after hitting the
bouncing structure and again after getting the link ball will make sure
he doesn't hit you. It makes that part a little more tricky, as you're
going faster, but its safer.
Well done on the SM2/4 scores though!

Well, I'm going to put this Dream away for a while. Until I figure out a better method for doing Mare 4, there's not too much more improvement left (stunt ring aside >.>). Time to work on some of Elliott's dreams, I think.

edit: Two years later, I take a look at this post and start cracking up.

Let me guess... stunt rings?
|
|
|
|
|
Splash Garden
Mare 1 - 92550 Mare 2 - 50980 Mare 3 - 64380 Mare 4 - 49260 Total - 506960 ----
Things I noticed in this dream: Mare 1 is a solid infinite once you get the finicky link between the stars at the fountain and the rings thereafter. I usually come across the top of the batch of stars, loop around clockwise, then dash through the middle to the fountain. Mare 3 seems to revolve around the stunt loop. By the end of my third lap, I'm low on time. So, instead of attempting for another iteration, I just double back at the very end to get the Stunt Ring for a fourth time. I average six to seven tricks each try, and never achieving higher than eight. Mare 4, like the same mare in Frozen Bell, gives me trouble. I just can't consistently hit those damnable switchess when I'm swimming. Still, the difficulty of those switches pales in comparison to that of opening the Link Ball in FB Mare 4.

Good work there, nice solid improvements.. You aare pretty much accurate on your observations on Splash Garden but if you would be good enough to keep discussion/ideas/questions about the levels in the levels forums I would be a happy camper. Keep em coming!

Nowhere near where I want it to be, but it's an improvement. Mystic Forest > 600k is my next goal.

What a great dream; it'll be better when I pull off four Dreamies in Mare 3! ... Yeah, right.
