The Offical FB 800k Thread

m1 - 108+k - infinite m2 - 120k - Getting that big link before, through and after the bars AND a Dreamy on
EACH of the (4?) laps m3 - 120k - Lance's theory of an infinite? m4 - 52k - 5 lap run, link ball everytime.
I haven't been playing FB much, but I think Kraken said it best - those middle mares are the key. How do those strats above sound? None of them look impossible judging from the SRs.

Even with an infinite on Mare 3...how would it help? Mare 1 is far
fewer points than 120k, and it has less time between each link ball. I
don't think it's possible to achieve an infinite and get too many of
those stars in the snowballs, which was pretty much vital for the
records that we did achieve. Mare 2 seems just plain impossible, no
matter how you look at it...there's gotta be some exploit or glitch
somewhere that they used. Or they lied. =/ We could still try, but it's
not worth using too much spare time.

108+120+120+52 = 400
I reckon thats how it will work.
M2 - something that I was experimenting with - dashing and paralooping in the bar section to break the link ball, thus saving you time compared to going round individual bars. If you could find a path through them with a big enough paraloop... and following it up with a dreamy. Theres 10 (?) rings after the bars, so you'd only need 24 within the bars to open the ball...
M3 - isnt there a star instantly accessible within each snowball? So in theory, you could dash through the centres, then paraloop out.
Ah, maybe you're right - but I'm atleast going to try to get 700k...

I think this is a worth while pursuit and wish you loads of luck on it.
I think I agree if there is any margin for improvement then it is going
to be in the middle 2 mares. Perhaps doing one lap less on FB2 and
using the extra time for the stunt rings?
Once thing I am very curious about, In my run of FB1 on the video which
is recorded for the site, I get a link of 343 and finish with 0 seconds
on the clock, ok I miss a few rings but I have absolutely no idea how
you got a record of 365 for the link. I could perhaps see 1000 or so
points worth of mistakes in my run but you getting 20 links higher than
the previous record is very interesting. Thats almost an extra lap. How
did you do it?

Interestingly enough, there is an extra lap, but not for the
link. Its a nine second lap if you do the two paraloops, and 6 seconds if you
don't. So you just dash through an extra lap and lose the link ball - it works
out as an extra 1k doing that, as opposed to finishing the link ball and
backtracking.
In terms of the link number, its all about making really tight circles with the
paraloops and your dashing between them. The first paraloop I grab the bottom
right star, up and anticlockwise paraloop grabbing the top right and top left
star, dashing out at 7 o'clock through
the chips, letting any chips I missed and the bottom star to follow. With the
second paraloop, I dash into the bottom item, and again up and anticlockwise
grabing the top item and dashing through the middle, letting the far left and
random middle ones to follow in the wake.
The only time I ever stop dashing is during the paraloops and for a split
second through the 4 yellow rings, just to adjust my path. Dont stop while
going through the two sets of orange rings - there's just enough manoeuvrability
to position yourself for the coming paraloops – the top of the first set, and
the bottom of the second one.
All that might only shave less than a second per lap, but they all add up and
allow you an extra lap or whatever.
Also, collecting 18-20 chips before entering the palace and
dashing through the first lot of chips and going straight for the capture –
without worrying about the link ball on the first lap. That should open the
capture at 115.
When I get hold of a camera, I'll take a shot of all my records, just for prosperity!

110k+119k+119k+52k=400k
Just got 110k on m1, using Lance's chip route before entering the palace first time, and my dashed through extra lap.
Also, with m2, I've been off by 1 link opening the link ball and dashing through the bars. Once you collect the big link ball, dashing at about 2 o'clock, with a couple of paraloops around the clusters of items, and paraloop around the final lot of chips at the top of the bars, then dashing through the rings and towards the stunt ribbon will do it I reckon.
What links are people consistently getting for m3 around the first snowball area? With the powerloop token, its about 55-60, 30/40 - haven't exactly done it yet, but I assume you paraloop the chips just after the small link ball to continue the link with the chips within the circle of snowballs, right?
m4 - still only 40k+, but getting there. That link ball is difficult. Is everyone doing more that 5 runs through the bobsleigh section?

m3 - the only place my potential infinite link breaks is between the circle of yellow rings, going through the wall of boosters into the snowball area. Any tips?

I have managed to do this by a fluke a couple of times. I managed to
get myself a nicely timed paraloop and the straight into the dash ball
which pulled the couple of chips laying around in there and link it
into the first cluster of snowballs. It was far more luck than
judgement though.
Are you still doing the large paraloop/giant paraloop to collect all
the stars? Also im kind of curious how you are linking from the rings
just before the Ideya capture to the group of snowballs with the dash
counter inside. Just paralooping through the orange rings and dragging
the chips behind you?

Based on the new FB1 site record I am assuming you have managed to get
another full lap out of that mare? Also are you killing enemies during
gameplay?

More like that I reckon at the moment. Unless theres a big refining of m3 and its snowballs, then I think m2 is the way to go - four laps, with all 8 link balls (2 out of bonus time) and 4 bonus time dreamies.

Yea I agree with your refinement of FB2, I think this is indeed where to get the extra points.

Alright Kraken, how did you get those extra 400 pts in FB1? Its starting to annoy me!!!
And just so you know, I've half given up on the 4 run FB2 strat - my new PR/SR was done with going for the links, and with one stunt ribbon at the end.
Still reckon 800k is doable (all about the dreamies)

To be honest, I really dont know. I just do what I normally do
(basically, Lance's strat at the beginning to get the chips, go
straight for the ideya capture, and go from there) ... it may have
something to do with a luck-based nailing of a creature, to be honest,
but I can't be sure.
Oh, congrats on that new FB record. =) I should have more time to give you a decent challenge now that Track's over.
