Jan 31st - Forum overhaul On the suggestion of forum member EVL I did a fairly major overhaul. I split all the different levels out into spearate forums and made a dedicated high score submission thread. Hopefully this will encourage people to post a little more. A note to Kraken, I know you sent me an email with some score because of your post on gameFAQS but for some reason I didnt get it. The Email address is working and Im curious to see your scores so please send them again or post a thread in the score submission forum if you would be so kind. Jan 31st - New pages Added an FAQ page as well as a score page for Christmas Nights which I totally forgot about. Also I cant play Christmans nights AT ALL. I dont think I ever put down any scores for it. I will break it out later this week and have a practice. I have kept all the score separate for Xmas nights but it also inludes a section for link attack and I warn you all Wyldflowa is going to own it.... I think I know how I am going to encode the videos once the card arrive, .mov and .avi using mp4 compression, hopefully everyone should be able to view these ok but I am very much open to suggestion on this. A little activity on the forum as well which is nice. Jan 31st - More Site Tweaks I spent a couple of days fixing some truly wierd problems with things not showing up in Internet Explorer as they are meant to. Adobe is more or less cracked now but its kind of hard to work out which formats I should be exporting the videos in. Still waiting for the capture card but in the mean time I have posted a forum for posting high scores incase anyone has problems with the automatic email form or doesnt have outlook/eudora/thunderbird or any kind of web mail. Jan 29th - Site Tweaks Brought the rest of the site in line with the graphical style of the news page plus another couple of adjustments. I have aquired all the codecs and software needed for video capture and I am basically as proficient as I need to be with the editing software to do what I want. Just waiting for the hardware to arrive which shold be any day now. Jan 28th - Site overhaul changed the nasty font on the main page. Shifted the menu around for the forth coming gameplay section and prettied things up a bit. Added a credits section and spent AGES messing with my video editing package. Jan 27th - Continuing Slight Hiatus Working through a 300 page video editing manual and tinkering with HTML while waiting for capture card..... Jan 26th - Slight Hiatus I have located the cables I need to start capturing video which will hopefully be happening by this time next week. There are a couple of different programs on the way for editing video as Virtualdub, while excellent, doesnt seem to do quite what I am after. The only other progress I have made is re editing the main index page for the site to incorporate the extra menu which will be added once I have video. This was not fun. Jan 24th - Fixes here and there No actual site progress today but I have corrected a spelling mistake or two laying around the site as pointed out by members of the Nightsintodreams.com forums. I have aquired an interim USB capture thing so a trip to the store to get some cables tomorrow is in order. A little hint for people picking up Nights as a high score challenge. Some of the control required is pretty damn precise and in my experience the analogue controller is the only way to go. Only problem being the Nights pad doesnt really have any decent traction and slipping at the wrong time is pretty hard. I found a neat little solution costing pennies from a stationary store. Its a little rubber thimble type thing for, I believe, counting money and it works a treat. Im going to spend the evening learning to use Virtualdub so I will be able to manipulate the forthcoming video content. Jan 23rd - Fixes here and there I made some mouse overs for the menu to make things a bit easier to navigate. Also fixed a problem with the HTML for the high score tables. I think my best news is I won an auction for a video capture device. Should arrive early next week with any luck and I will start capturing videos and screen shots so there will be something to look at on here other than text. Jan 22nd - Plenty of things happening As evidenced by the general appearance of things the site is now looking FAR more tidy with a nice banner at the top. I finally figured out what was wrong with my forum so its available for anyone looking to post ideas/suggestions or anything. I now have tabithaboof@scoreattack.net as the main email address for the site but the biggest improvement is the submission page which now has a for to just enter all your details and it will email a nice list of your scores to me. I plan to get the form to automatically update the score tables on the site at some point but I am pretty well satisfied with the weekends work. Next week a video capture card should arrive and assuming I can get it working I will start capturing and editing video content and pictures for the site. Jan 20th - Nights into dreams Score attack! Everything now looks alot more pretty, weeded out a few unneeded bits of code, cleaned up the high score tables, did a little more work on the forums. Im really not happy with the quailty of the video I am able to capture (point a digital camera at the screen and records) so I am looking into purchasing a capture card this weekend in the stores or via the internet so hopefully this time next week I will have some pretty gameplay content but as it stands just waiting for the scores to start coming in. Jan 19th - forums I now have a forum which I havent quite worked the kinks out of yet. Once it is perfected then I will add it to the menu on the left but for now you can check them out here Also I am really not sure about what I want to do with the color scheme of the site so I am going to play around with the front page for a while till I am happy. Once I settle on a design I like I will update everything else to reflect it. Although I dont have the menus in place or any kind of background info or explainations or anything I have video content showing how to infinite link 4 of the main 24 mares. Jan 18th - Site up I am a big fan of "Nights into Dreams" and have put many hours into trying to learn the games secrets. After finding huge numbers of very good nights related sites covering a wide range of topics without a single one dedicated to high Scores (except the sadly short lived versusmode.com) or high level game play I decided to start one of my own. There are numerous feature I plan to add over the next few weeks so more content will appear rapidly. I have alot of plans for this site, I want a forum, as many people playing for score or simply enjoyment of the game as possible, I have already recorded 5 gameplay videos which I will be uploading shortly. The site obviously needs a huge visual overhaul which will come in due time. I want to share everything I know about the game and try to find out more with anyone else who is interested. There are 6 levels of the 24 that I can loop infinitely and I am convinced there are more to find. I can get a 2.0 on about half the bosses regularly and I want to crack the others. I have listed my own score already and while some of them may seem a little high I will gladly explain who I got them all and try to help anyone who wants to learn to improve their game. Its also worth mentioning that many people have givent me useful hints and tips such as Lance Way from the Panzer Dragoon forums and Wyldaflower from the NID Forums. Plus probably many other people all of whom I plan to thank in a forcoming credits section somewhere.
